3 men die in 2 separate collisions near Potchefstroom 

Three people have died in two separate collision on the N12 highway a short distance from each other and minutes apart this evening. 

ER24 paramedics were called out to a scene on the N12 highway in the direction of Klerksdorp, approximately 20 kilometers outside of Potchefstroom. When arriving at the scene the paramedics found that a single bakkie had veered off of the road and overturned. 

There were three male occupants, all believed to be aged 21, in the bakkie at the time of the collision. Two of the men had sustained various fatal injuries and was later declared dead at the scene. The one man was found to have sustained suspected back, neck and pelvic injuries as well as a broken right foot. The patient was treated at the scene before being transported to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for further care. 

As paramedics started to clear the scene the Advanced Life Support paramedic received word of a second serious collision no more than 500 meters down the same road. When arriving at the collision the paramedic found that a single double cab bakkie had left the road, overturned and ejected the only occupant from the vehicle. 

The male driver, believed to be aged 30, had sustained various fatal injuries and was later declared dead at the scene. Local law enforcement officials attended both scene’s and will be investigating the indents further.
